PCC Statement in response to recent violence

The Patient and Client Council has issued the following statement in response to recent violence.

“We are shocked and concerned by the recent violence that has occurred in locations across Belfast and Northern Ireland.

“Such violence is having a major negative impact on individuals and our society. This includes health and social care staff and services. It is seriously hindering the public’s ability to access services safely in certain areas. This includes older and vulnerable people”.

“All members of the public are served by and benefit from health and social care staff, this includes highly valued international staff. PCC stands against all forms of hatred and racism.

“Acts of violence should cease immediately. This will ensure the safety of HSC staff and the safe delivery of, and access to, health and social care services, upon which we all rely”.
